HOW TO MAKE DELICIOUS HOMEMADE GRANOLA⠀
This is a household favourite - nutritious, delicious, satisfying, no refined sugars and really, really easy! Perfect really for people seeking to live healthy, active lives!⠀
Here’s how:⠀
⠀
1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C and line a big baking sheet or ridged pan with baking paper.⠀
2️⃣In a big bowl, mix together 500g porrage oats with 200-250g of nuts, seeds and (if you want it) dried fruit. Pecans, chia seeds and pumpkin seeds are our current favourites but you can use whatever you want! ⠀
3️⃣ Add a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon on cinnamon to the big bowl and mix it all around a bit. ⠀
4️⃣ To the mixed dry ingredients, add either 200ml of olive oil, coconut oil or delicious locally grown
Black & Gold Rapeseed Oil AND 200g of honey. Mix it all together with a spoon till all the dry ingredients are covered with oil and honey. ⠀
5️⃣ Spread pour it all onto a pan with a ridged edge (we use a sheet cake pan) and pop in the oven for 15 mins. ⠀
6️⃣ After 15 mins, take it out the oven, stir it about a bit with a spoon and then spread it back out and roughly press down with back of a spoon (the pressing down creates bigger clusters once it’s done).⠀
7️⃣ Put the granola back in the oven for 10 more mins or so and take out once it’s golden brown on top. ⠀
8️⃣ Leave the granola alone to cool in the pan fully before putting it in a storage tub (it’ll be fresh for a couple of weeks). ⠀
9️⃣ Serve by itself, with milk, on locally produced
Yester Farm Dairies Greek Yogurt with honey and berries, sprinkled on pancakes or whatever you fancy. Enjoy!
